Thanks for visiting. I am a history professor, preservationist, and public historian, among other things. I’m from middle Tennessee, and live now in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Boone, NC. For more on me, see the about page.
This site showcases some of the projects that I’ve had the privilege to work on, both with communities and in the classroom. I love working with groups to present and preserve the stories that they think are important. These days I am particularly enjoying sharing that work with students.
My current research project focuses on the adaptive reuse of religious buildings, and I’ll be discussing that more as I move forward.
